Tough just got tougher with BMW’s new matte black X7 special edition.
BMW has announced the arrival of a strictly-limited edition variant of the X7 called the Dark Shadow Edition, with a production run of just 500 and an allocation of just 10 to Australia. Finished in BMW Individual Frozen Arctic Grey Metallic and featuring gloss-black trim pieces across the exterior with the BMW Individial Shadow Line package, the Dark Shadow Edition shouts commanding road presense more than ever before.
Extended shadow line components replace all hints of chrome from the bodywork, sacrificing class for obstinance – and a strong degree of window tint adds to the style while providing additional privacy for occupants.
22-inch V-Spoke alloy wheels are finished in Jet Black matte to complement the exterior paint, with the M Sport brake calipers and BMW Laserlight system essentially the only parts of the car that retain a blue contrast to the matte black.
The interior of the Dark Shadow Edition is characterised by unique elements never before seen in an X7. Two-tone full leather Merino Night Blue/Black BMW Comfort Seats with high-end quilting are standard, and additionally, the cockpit is painted to rememble that of a darkened sky, framed by Night Blue BMW Individual Walknappa leather surfaces.
Aluminium inlays flow through the X7’s Fineline Black interior surfaces, which BMW states “provide a seamless aesthetic by unifying the two materials as one”, and the CraftedClarity glass adorns the gearshift lever; iDrive selector and start/stop button, with an ‘Edition Dark Shadow’ logo etched into the centre console.
10 Dark Shadow Edition X7’s are due March 2021, with five units allocated for the xDrive30d and five for the M50i.
